GLOSSARY

6 min read

This glossary explains the main terms used throughout the Deusbot website and documentation.
Use it as a reference while following the license, broker, VPS, MetaTrader 4, and Expert Advisor setup guides.

Deusbot and website

Deusbot
The automated trading service, including the Expert Advisor, website tools, license system, updates, and support.
Membership account
Your private area on this website, where you can view your license status, downloads, credit, referral dashboard, and account information.
License
The license attached to your Deusbot account. It gives you access to the EA and needs to be connected to your MT4 account.
License tier
One of the available license levels. Every tier provides the same access to Deusbot and its services. The selected tier only determines the maximum base position sizes you can configure in the Expert Advisor.
Available Credit
The unused portion of your license(s). When you upgrade your plan, that unused portion is deducted from the price of your new license. As days pass, the available credit decreases accordingly.
Available Coupon
We preserve your coupon code, if any, and prorate its value across your first year. When you upgrade your plan, that unused portion is deducted from the price of your new license. As days pass, the available coupon decreases accordingly.
Upgrade
Changing an active license to a higher tier, which makes larger base position sizes available in the Expert Advisor. You can upgrade your license at any time. Any unused time remaining on your current license will be converted into credit toward your new license.
Matching License
The license tier identified by the Deusbot calculator as supporting the base position sizes generated by the selected balance and setup.

MetaTrader and trading

MetaTrader 4 (MT4)
The trading platform in which the Deusbot Expert Advisor is installed and runs.
Expert Advisor (EA)
An automated program installed in MetaTrader 4. The Deusbot EA receives information and manages trade execution according to the strategy.
Virtual Private Server (VPS)
A remote computer hosted by a provider. For this setup, it runs Windows and keeps MetaTrader 4 and the Deusbot EA operating independently of your personal computer and home internet connection.
CFD
A leveraged financial instrument that follows the price movement of an underlying market without giving ownership of that underlying asset.
Index
A value representing a group of companies or a market. Deusbot trades CFDs based on the S&P 500, DAX40, and CAC40 indices.
Symbol
The broker-specific name used for an instrument in MT4, such as US500, GER40, or FRA40.
Market Watch
The MT4 panel that lists available symbols and provides access to their contract specifications.
Contract specifications
The broker rules for a symbol, including its minimum volume, volume step, tick size, tick value, and trading conditions.
Position
A trade that has been opened and remains active until it is closed.
Position size
The size of a trade. In MT4 it is entered as a volume, usually expressed in lots.
Base position size
The position-size value configured for an index in the Expert Advisor. For each trade, the strategy multiplies this base value by a coefficient to determine the position size actually used.
Lot / volume
The unit used by MT4 to express position size. The monetary value of one lot depends on the broker and symbol.
Minimum volume
The smallest position size the broker allows for a particular symbol.
Volume step
The smallest increment by which the position volume can be increased or decreased.
Point
A one-unit movement in an index price, such as a move from 20,000 to 20,001.
Value per point
The amount by which the profit or loss changes when the market moves by one index point for the selected position size.
Tick size
The smallest price movement used by the broker for a symbol.
Tick value
The monetary value of one minimum price movement for one lot, as reported in the broker’s contract specifications. The effective value changes with position volume.
Spread
The difference between the broker’s buying and selling prices for an instrument.
Commission
A fee that a broker may charge when a trade is opened, closed, or both.
Swap
A financing charge or credit that may be applied when a position remains open overnight.

Broker and accounts

Broker
A regulated company that provides the trading account, market prices, and order execution. Your funds remain with your broker.
Broker profile
The main personal area created with a broker. It can contain multiple demo or live trading accounts.
Trading account
An individual account used to place trades. It has its own account number, password, balance, and server.
Demo account
A trading account that uses virtual funds. It is used to prepare and test a setup without trading real money.
Live account
A trading account funded with real money, where profits and losses are real.
Balance
The amount recorded in a trading account, excluding the changing profit or loss of positions that are still open.
Allocated capital
The part of your capital that you intend to dedicate to Deusbot. It may be lower than the total balance held with your broker.
Base currency
The currency in which the trading account balance, profits, losses, and account values are displayed.
Leverage
A broker mechanism that allows a position to be opened with less capital than its full market exposure. It increases both potential gains and potential losses.

The amount reserved by the broker to keep a leveraged position open.
Wallet
An area used by some brokers to hold deposited funds before they are transferred to a specific trading account.
Server
The broker connection selected in MetaTrader 4 when logging in to a particular trading account.

Risk and calculator

Automatic Sizing
The calculator mode that determines the base position sizes from the entered balance using Deusbot’s standard position sizing.
Standard position sizing
The default method used by Deusbot to calculate base position sizes, designed to give each index a 20% risk exposure relative to the capital allocated.
Risk exposure
An estimate of how strongly the selected base position sizes can affect the account under the tested scenario.
Maximum Drawdown
The largest historical decline from an account-value peak to a later low during the tested period.
Historical performance
A complete record of Deusbot’s past trades and performance. These results are used as the basis for calculating setups in the Deusbot calculator, but they do not guarantee future results.
Compound Interest
A simulation mode in which base position sizes are adjusted as the account balance changes over time.
The calculator is an educational planning tool. Its results and historical simulations are not financial advice and do not guarantee future performance.

WARNING:

Deusbot Trading provides software tools and general information only. It is not a broker, investment firm, or financial adviser. CFDs are complex instruments and carry a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. Most retail investor accounts lose money when trading CFDs. You should consider whether you understand how CFDs work and whether you can afford to take the risk of losing your money. Past performance is not indicative of future results.
