This guide explains how to install the desktop version of MetaTrader 4 on your Windows VPS or personal computer, connect it to your trading account, and open the three charts required by Deusbot.

Symbol names vary between brokers. Use the CAC40, DAX40 and S&P 500 spot index CFD symbols you identified in the Broker guide.

Before you start

This guide uses the desktop version of MetaTrader 4. The MT4 web and mobile applications cannot be used to run Deusbot.

Have the following ready

  • Access to your Windows VPS, or to the Windows computer you are using temporarily.
  • A demo or live MT4 trading account prepared in the Broker guide.
  • Your MT4 account number, trading password and exact broker server name.

Install MetaTrader 4

Download the official MetaTrader 4 desktop installer provided by your broker. Using the broker’s own MT4 download is the simplest way to make sure its trading servers are available when you connect your account.

  1. Log in to your broker account or visit its official trading-platform page.
  2. Find MetaTrader 4 and download the Windows desktop version.
  3. If you are using a VPS, download the installer directly on the VPS or copy it from your personal computer through the Remote Desktop window.
  4. Open the installer on the Windows machine where Deusbot will run and complete the installation.
  5. Launch MetaTrader 4 when the installation is complete.
Make sure you install MetaTrader 4 from your broker rather than an unrelated broker’s MT4 terminal.

Log in to your MT4 account

  1. In MetaTrader 4, open File and select Login to Trade Account.
  2. Enter your MT4 account number in the Login field.
  3. Enter the trading password assigned to that account.
  4. Select the exact server provided by your broker and confirm the login.

Confirm the connection

  • The selected account number appears in the Navigator panel or in the MT4 window title.
  • Prices in Market Watch begin updating.
  • The connection indicator in the lower-right corner does not display No connection or Invalid account.
Make sure you connect to the trading account you intend to use. Demo and live accounts have separate account details.

Add the required symbols to Market Watch

Deusbot uses the CAC40, DAX40 and S&P 500 spot index CFDs. Their exact names depend on your broker.

  1. Right-click inside Market Watch and select Symbols, or press Ctrl+U.
  2. Locate the CAC40, DAX40 and S&P 500 symbols you identified during the Broker guide.
  3. Select each symbol and click Show. Depending on the MT4 version, double-clicking the symbol may perform the same action.
  4. Close the Symbols window and confirm that all three symbols now appear in Market Watch.

The screenshot above is an example. Symbol names may be different with your broker.
Use the spot index CFD symbols supplied by your broker. Do not select an index futures contract whose name contains a month or expiry code.

Open the three charts

  1. In Market Watch, right-click your broker’s CAC40 symbol and select Chart Window.
  2. Repeat the same action for the DAX40.
  3. Repeat the same action for the S&P 500.

Each chart opens in its own tab along the bottom of the MT4 workspace. Keep one chart open for each of the three indices and confirm that the correct broker symbol appears on every chart.

These three charts must remain open while Deusbot is running.

MT4 is ready

Confirm the following

  • The desktop version of MetaTrader 4 provided by your broker is installed on the selected Windows machine.
  • The intended demo or live trading account is connected and prices are updating.
  • One chart is open for each of the three required indices.
